The DMCA Agent is warning me and anyone who runs a wiki, a fanfiction, fan art hosting site. To register with DMCA or they'll shut them all down.
AFAIK, Fanfiction dot net never registered for DMCA protections. DeviantArt has but they need to renew their registration.
But here's the new thing. The Copyright office is considering on removing DMCA protections to website owners if they do not comply in this big corporate censorship. So in other cases DeviantArt for example once they renew their DMCA protections they must take down all the fan art or they'll be held liable.
This is typically a bait-n-switch. Either way, you'll lose liability protection, renewal for censorship or not.
