Rumors on a 2013 Sailor Moon Anime is probably false

It's really much late since I was busy on Facebook. But I like to congratulate on Mike Lazzo on his promotion to Vice President in Adult Swim's Game and Digital content Department.

I am proud of Lazzo and I wish him luck.

Now, I want to discuss on this rumor that been spreading around on the topic of Sailor Moon.

There had been rumors posted on Twitter, Anime News Network and Crunchyroll about an upcoming new Sailor Moon series which is absolutely a bunch of crap.

The two pictures on the Crunchyroll article is just an upcoming Sailor Moon musical. And the picture at the end is not the official artwork for the new Sailor Moon series. It just a fan art posted on Pixiv (Japanese version of DeviantArt).

Remember what happened when Production Reed (formally Ashi Productions) announced planned for an upcoming 30th anniversary Minky Momo, a musical, and a new Momo series, that plan was scrapped when scriptwriter Shudo (the guy who wrote for Pokemon and Nadesico) died from a hemorrhoid as a result of his excessive smoking. Those who do not know Minky Momo, the magical girl anime series ran in 1982 and 1991 including the Harmony Gold dub of the OAV Minky Momo/Gigi and the Fountain of Youth was released by what is now a defunct company under the label "Just For Kids" that is known for other anime dub titles one of Saban dub that aired on Nick called Noozles, the awful dub called Wee Wendy (JP "Memoru" OAV), and the Time Bokan.OAV dub (US/UK Time Fighters). the Italian dubs of Minky Momo in 1982 called Benvenuta Gigi, Magico Mondo Gigi, and Tanto Tempo fa Gigi (1992).

Sailor Moon is finished. The creator of the series has a family to take care of. She is probably going to respond to Toei with a "no"

When you're a creator and have a wife and children, you have to think about them other than your own things.

So Sailor Moon fans, I hate to break it to you but it isn't going to happen. And even if it happens, it would be a DBZ Kai-Style Sailor Moon (Digitally remastered). And it's not going to stream on Crunchyroll. And Toei will not let Netflix get rights to the Cookie Jar./Saban/CWi dubs SM, SM:R, SM:S, and SM:Super S. Saban Brands? Possibly no dice. But if Saban Brands can get Digimon Fusion, they could for Sailor Moon, but probably not . FUNimation? maybe. They did successfully got the rights to One Piece, probably not for SM.

So remember, family first.
